Activity Description for FOP/WOP Space Title: “Why and How to Be Present in the WOP Space: Activating Feminist Participation in Social Forum Processes” 

WOP :  Women, Organizations, Processes of social forum

First part of the activity: Will be a gateway for women-led and women-propelled organizations to understand, engage with, and shape the WOP space within WSFI intersections. It offers practical orientation, strategic reflection, and collective dialogue on how feminist actorsfeminist actors can produce, through  contents and proposals evolved in self organized activities, contribution to WSFIntersections social forum process  and  WSF2026  event.

. A facilitated dialogue will be covering: 

• What is the WOP space and why does it exist? • Who is invited and how to participate? • What kinds of activities and exchanges are envisioned? • How does WOP relate to WSFIntersections and WSF2026? • What are the feminist stakes and opportunities in this space? 

This session will include live responses to questions, sharing of past examples, and clarification of the steps to engage. 

Participants will be walked through the four key steps to activate their presence in the WOP space:

This activity is important because it dynamizes the process of accessing the World Social Forum of Itersections (WSFI) for feminist and women-led organizations, fostering visibility, solidarity, and co-learning across diverse geographies and movements.

 It enables practical engagement with intersectional feminist strategies in global spaces and specifically in African space and lays the groundwork for a meaningful feminist presence in WSF2026 event. It is especially relevant for feminist collectives, women’s organizations, grassroots groups, facilitators and anyone committed to advancing feminist participation in global social movements. 

The second part of the activity will be around a consultation about the intentions of activities/meetings  i WSFIntersections  by entities present in WOP ( 45mn) (see recent activities here at the bottom of the list https://intersectionsglobal.net/fsmi/activites-passees ) , Below is a list of topics, among many others possible to could stimulate this consultation: 

1. Economic Justice & Women’s Work Women in the informal economy (markets, domestic work, care work) and fair wages. Digital skills and women’s access to the future of work. Cooperative businesses and women-led enterprises. 

2. Violence Against Women & Safety Addressing domestic and intimate partner violence. Building safe spaces for women in communities. Using technology (apps, networks) to report and prevent abuse 

3. Women, Health & Bodily Autonomy Maternal health and reducing preventable deaths. Access to sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR). Mental health support for women and girls. 

4. Climate Justice & Women’s Rights Women farmers, food security, and climate change. Clean energy and women-led green innovations. Water, land, and environmental rights for women. 

5. Women in Politics & Leadership Breaking barriers for young women in governance. Women’s voices in peacebuilding and conflict resolution. Feminist leadership models for the future. 

6. Digital Rights & Technology Women and online safety (cyberbullying, exploitation). Access to digital tools and closing the tech gender gap. Women innovators in AI, STEM, and tech spaces. 

7. Migration, Conflict & Displacement Women in refugee and IDP camps: rights and resilience. Support systems for women survivors of conflict

 8. Feminist Solidarity & Intergenerational Dialogue Linking young feminists with elder women leaders. Storytelling circles: women’s voices shaping change.
